Roots Factory presents Movement Riddim – RFR12002
We at Roots Factory Records are proud to announce their second release with an inter continental lineup of amazing artists.
“Movement Riddim” was composed in the suburbs of Fortaleza in the North of Brazil by Dub Movement, one of the leading producers on the bubbling Brazilian scene and definitely one to watch for future releases!

The first cut features Majestyk Sound Machine member Obajah, a hugely underrated singjay hailing from France and busting on the UK scene with a killer called “Higha Meditation”. The flow is impeccable and the lyrics are positively conscious. Expect to hear plenty more of him in the near future…

Next up is a call for “More Unity” by legendary cultural artist Afrikan Simba haling from Nigeria. A veteran on the London scene as well as internationally, he has worked with top sound systems like Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti, Blackboard Jungle and Channel One, released music on labels like Reality Shock, Jah Warrior, Dub Judah and even set up his own label called Ayamba based in Jamaica. A serious effort by a serious lyricist and performer.

We love horns cuts at Roots Factory, and it’s no surprise that the flip side starts with “Horns Movement” by Serbian trombone player extraordinaire Hornsman Coyote, one of the leading artists in the Balkans and a seasoned and sought after performer both on stage and in the studio. On top of touring with Eyesburn, his band of 20 years, he’s also toured the world and recorded with artists that include Max Romeo, Iration Steppas, Jah Works, Jerry Lyons and more recently featured on Lee Scratch Perry’s new album “Back on the controls”.

Brigadier JC shows off his mixing skills on “Movement Dub”, a pressure-filled take on the original riddim, using a mix of digital and analog effects from the Roots Factory studio in London. He’s also released music on labels such as Jarring Effects and Reality Shock, and is seen regularly around Europe treating the crowds to his large bank of self produced exclusive dubplates.
