(I first heard this tune in 1978 in Zadar, Yugoslavia, wandering around half broke and all alone… I heard some reggae and followed it to a youth hostel full of Nigerian students. It was illegal to import non-Nigerian music into Nigeria at the time, so they loved the 7”s I was carrying in my backpack – Midnight Rider (Paul Davidson) Hurt So Good (Susan Cadogan) and Natty Wait In Vain (Danny Ray). I promised to send them some cassettes when I got back to the UK and they got back to Nigeria, but to my shame I never did. So I dedicate this to any of those guys who are tuned in to my channel today – amends time now.
