Lee Perry – Skanking with the Upsetter Rare Dubs Perry in Dub
According the discussion about this track it is highly unlikely one didn’t fool around with the material. It is likely it is upgraded digitally, and remixed by person X. However, I like the result, and it gives me visions on how Perry could have performed with now a days equipment.
However, in the rhythm I hear quality musicians and the signature of Perry. The sleeve of this fake indicates Bunny Lee too, as a producer.
Anyway, I like it. Because sometimes I am really irritated by the bad condition of Perry cuts. Great rhythms, great bass lines. But one can almost hear the rain dripping into the Black Ark, demolishing jewels. Unfortunately.
I am a music man, not a purist. This sounds nice to me, rhythm and bass is okay.
