Another quality re-release from Dubmission, this time something slightly different: Bill&Ben’s “South of the River” was originally put out on Sven Vath’s Harthouse label back in 1997 and as one can imagine is more tech than dub, more metallic than rootsy.

However it does contain two stand out dub tunes: “Country Man Dub” and “8 Hand Version”, as well as some excellent downbeat goodies, including the classic “10’’ of Funk”. And since it’s original offering, Bill&Ben have gone on to find “fame” in other areas: Bill as Dubmission artist Warp Technique and Ben as Benny Ill of dubstep label Tempa’s Horsepower Productions.

Having been deleted nearly 10 years ago when Harthouse went to ground, this album has never been available digitally. .
