Ronnie Davis & The Aggrovators – Power Of Love & Version (Jackpot 7″, 1975, reissue 2012)

Ronnie Davis (born Jerome Constantine Ballin in 1950, Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica, and died January 25 2017, Jamaica) was a Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter and producer.

Originally released on the Rosie label, the tune features a great rhythm recorded by producer Bunny Lee’s Aggrovators in 1973. Re-voiced by Ronnie Davis in 1975 and re-mixed sublimely by the great Osbourne Ruddock.

Same producer and rhythm, but a completely different mix by King Tubby. All that I can say is that both are big big favourites of mine and, of course, essential reggae tunes. Hope you enjoy them!!!
