This is the debut release by DJ Hype on Suburban Base. This record is arguably the one that could be considered the first Darkside Jungle record on Sub Base. 1993 signaled the end of the Hardcore Breakbeat era and the beginning of the burgeoning Jungle sound thanks to Breakbeat & Hardcore getting too popular and selling out to the commercial masses in 1992 with watered down tracks becoming part of the Top 40 mainstream in the UK. As a result the Hardcore scene split, and early Jungle producers responded with Darkside productions that did away with the 4/4 beats & kickdrum heard in Hardcore tracks from 1991-1993. This split also resulted in the Happy Hardcore sound which kept the 4 beat synth driven kick drum sound. Darkside & Jungle would later progress further into Drum & Bass by the mid 90’s.
